| Description |
| I took GILT 521: Digital Imagery for Teachers with Dr. Heo in the fall semester of 2018. This was an online master’s course offered by Duquesne University. According to the GITL 521 syllabus, the course focuses on various uses of multimedia for enhancing course material. As a graded class assignment in week 9, I participated in a midterm group project.
For the midterm project, the group decided to create artifacts in Photoshop that would be used for a School of Education open house event. The midterm project had to conform to the following.
- The project should be cognitively demanding
- All graphics are clearly related to the theme
- All items of importance on the poster are visible from at least 3 feet away

| Reflection |
| I created two images for the midterm project: A T-Shirt Design and a Banner. For the T-Shirt, I used a technique using Smart Objects, Overlay, and the Displace filter to show the contour of the T-Shirt and to give the images the texture of the t-shirt. I intentionally selected a wrinkled shirt so I could show the result of the techniques I used.
For the banner, I used a technique to change the logo to look like it was done in chalk. Also, I made the stock image of the kids transparent. Also, I changed the star colors and lightened the color using the blending mode.
These two images are my favorite from the semester. I am really pleased with how the images turned out and how I was able to use a variety of techniques to accomplish the goals of the midterm project. |
