| I created my interactive video lesson using EdPuzzle. My video lesson is targeted for a 5th-grade history class and briefly goes over Ben Franklin’s biography. The expected outcome is to have students learn more about Ben Franklin’s background and accomplishments.
For the EdPuzzle video lesson, I integrated multiple quiz type questions (multiple choice, comments, and open-ended questions) Also, I added an audio note at the end of the video to further explain Ben Franklin’s inventions and accomplishments that were not specifically discussed in the video. The original video from YouTube was a three-minute video, but I used the crop tool to cut the clip to 1:17 so I could focus on Ben Franklin’s time as an inventor.
The experience of creating an interactive video was interesting. Before this assignment, I was not aware there was a tool that could alter an existing video to make it into a learning piece. The experience has been a great growth opportunity for me professionally. I integrated this tool into a professional development workshop I created in work. The people who attended my workshop all found the interactive video intriguing and asked me if I could show them how to create an interactive video so they could include it into their classes. |
